Johnny F***ing Depp!!

So so excited!

Nerd Tour of D.C.

This past Monday a few friends and I took a day trip to D.C.. I am a closeted nerd, so I really really wanted to go to the Smithsonian for my birthday. Yes, this is an extremely nerdy thing to want to do, but whatever. Here are some random pics from the trip.

The Hope Diamond. The security guard, hovering over the display, would not let you get more that 2 tiles away from it. Although, this little boy gone rogue obviously didn't think this rule applied to him.

No one, including me, wanted to be caught on camera. Because after the long trek to the White House, we all looked like the inevitable sweaty "Hot Mess".

We also attempted to spend the last two hours before we left, at Tyson's Corner, but were way to tired, and our feet hurt way too much to do the SERIOUS round about it required. Although, I did come away with a few items.

Calvin Klein grey jacket, JCrew cream blazer, H&M fleece, American Eagle denim top (I know American Eagle Ewwww but...it does look pretty cool)

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

I shall spend the day eating loads of Trader Joes's enchiladas and yummy cherry pie with vanilla bean ice cream, while watching movies and hopefully re-runs of "The Rachel Zoe Project". To me, this is perfect.

Still On My Radar

I follow a lot of personal style blogs, but these three girls still continue to amaze me.

1. Queen Michelle (aka Queen of the kick ass legging) from "Kingdom Of Style". I go here for her very avant garde style.

2. Emma Thorn from "Emma's Corner". She has a very classic yet chic style, and all of her pictures look like they belong in a JCrew catalog.

3. Lena from "Elenita.no". She has a great basic style, and knows how to put great looking outfits together from stores we all know and love (and can afford).

So great!

Current Playlist

I'm on vacation, which has given me WAY too much time on my hands. This, along with continued boredom, has allowed me to start poking around my iTunes library creating playlists. I kind of realized I need a music overhaul(hard, since I don't really like anything new at the moment). Nonetheless, this sums up what I've been listening to lately:

The Get Go...........New Young Pony Club
Dull Life............Yeah Yeah Yeah's
Naive................The Kooks
You Talk.............Babyshambles
Fuck The People......The Kills
On Your Own..........Blur
Get Lucky............New Young Pony Club
Planet...............The Sugarcubes
Add It Up............Violent Femmes
Tape Song............The Kills
Triangle Walks.......Fever Ray
All Mine.............Portishead
UFO..................One eskimO
What Else Is There?......Royksopp
All Is Full of Love.......Björk
Plainsong............The Cure

I also made a ridiculously awesome 64 track Madonna playlist. Warner Brothers should have asked me to create the track list for her new Greatest Hits CD "Celebration".....I would have made it awesome. I'm just saying.

What's your favorite Madonna?

The Cool Girl

Rashida Jones seems so cool and fun.

Found: Lost Stroke

So I asked the question: What happened The Strokes? Well, it seems that Julian is releasing a solo record next month, while the new Strokes record will be out around March. I'm so excited!

Simple

I really like these two looks(even though I like the second one a bit more than the first one). I love how both are VERY simple, but kind of fabulous at the same time. And, I love the contrast of chambray and black.

Head To Toe Black

Fall needs to get here so I can start wearing all black ensembles. I think 95 degrees and above will get me more than just the random awkward stare. Can anyone say heat stroke?

Where O Where Are You?

I was going through my iTunes Library, when I thought to myself, WTF happened to the Strokes? They seemed to completely drop off the face of the Earth 3 years ago. The last I saw of them was on Shia Labeouf's t-shirt during Transformers. Please comeback, PLEASE!!

Welcome To The Dollhouse

To me, this is one of the top 3 funniest movies ever. It shows just how ridiculously mean and awkward Middle School is. You can watch it on YouTube for free. Yay for the mid-90's!!

Sometimes You Just Have To Say "F***k My Life"!

So Friday was one of the my top 10 weirdest days ever. It was supposed to be of the best of the summer but things (as usual) took a turn for the weird.

I was driving back home (in the dead of night) from the Tori Amos concert I'd been looking forward to all summer. It took place close to my hometown, so something told me to not drive back to my apartment, but to just stay the night at my family's house, 20 minutes away from the venue. Well, since no one was going to be home, I didn't. I was just going to drive into the night and sleep in my own bed. A 3 hour drive isn't that bad right? I mean my friends carpooled all the way back to their apartments. Well I was WRONG!!!!

I ended up getting lost twice from the shitty iphone map application, which of course landed me in some crazy sketchy area. There were actually prostitutes on the side walk. And for some strange reason, my drivers side window decided to shatter! That's right, shatter. Do I know why? NO! To make matters worse, this all went down at 2:00AM. Have you ever had to drive the last 50 miles of a trip with NO drivers side window and glass all over the place? Some even got down the back of my pants! It sucks! How would I have explained that mess if I got pulled over by a State Trooper?

Going 75 mph down a highway in 91% humidity with no window, praying that your windshield doesn't fog up, is bad news bears. iphone maps can go fuck itself!

Fun Times!
